Manufacturing, Design & Production
MANUFACTURING, DESIGN & PRODUCTION
- Learn how raw materials are turned into finished products in manufacturing.
- Gain hands-on experience with tools and machines such as welders, CNC machines, lathes, mills, and sheet metal equipment.
- Explore advanced processes like casting, forging, threading, and heat treatment.

Youth Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative (YMPI)
Industry-Recognized Training: Students can participate in the Youth Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative (YMPI), a program aligned with the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board and supported by over 35 regional manufacturing companies, including General Dynamics Electric Boat.
Career Pathway Opportunities: The program introduces students to manufacturing careers through skill-building experiences and coursework designed to prepare them for entry-level positions in advanced manufacturing.
High-Demand Career Field: With many current workers nearing retirement and strong regional demand for skilled employees, YMPI helps prepare the next generation of manufacturers through partnerships with CT State Community College and regional industry leaders.
Students who successfully complete the YMPI program will earn their OSHA 10 certification which puts them at a competitive advantage in their future careers.

Auto Tech, Repair & Alt. Science
AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY & REPAIR
- Learn hands-on skills to diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical systems such as small engines, vehicles, and power equipment.
- Practice real-world maintenance tasks including checking fluids, changing tires, balancing wheels, and basic troubleshooting.
- Develop practical skills for vehicle ownership and mechanical repair while working with professional tools and lab equipment.
SCIENCE & ALTERNATIVE ENERGY
- Explore sustainable energy and how technology impacts the environment.
- Conduct energy audits and create hands-on projects related to renewable energy, recycling, water conservation, and waste management.
- Learn how science, technology, and everyday choices influence environmental sustainability and future careers.
Engineering & Architecture
ENGINEERING
- Solve real-world problems by designing projects using CAD, CNC machines, laser cutters, and 3D printers.
- Apply the engineering design process to develop ideas and build products for school or community projects.
- Build advanced technical skills, including injection molding and manufacturing techniques.
- Work in teams to design, build, and present project results.

ARCHITECTURE
- Learn 3D engineering and architectural design through home design projects.

Graphics, Photography & Video Production
GRAPHICS & ADVANCED GRAPHICS
- Learn graphic design using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and vinyl cutting software.
- Create projects such as t-shirts, mugs, decals, logos, posters, and magazine layouts.
- Explore the design process from idea to final product.
- Gain hands-on experience with printing, silk screening, vinyl cutting, and vector design.
- Build a portfolio of creative work for college, careers, or personal projects.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
- Learn photography basics, including camera use, composition, and shooting techniques.
- Explore styles like portraits, selfies, action shots, photojournalism, and landscapes.
- Edit and enhance photos using Adobe Photoshop.

VIDEO PRODUCTION
