Bacon Academy Updates for the Week of January 30th

Accepted, Connected and Ready to Learn

January 30, 2026

Connecticut Association of Schools Arts Award

Bacon Academy is proud to announce our Connecticut Association of Schools Arts Award recipients:  Julia Gale and Gianna Riley!  Julia is recognized for her outstanding work in ceramic arts and Gianna for her accomplishments in band and choir. Two seniors are honored each year, and will be recognized at the annual banquet to be held March 30th.  Congratulations!

Bacon Academy Athletic Complex

Bacon Academy Athletic Complex renovations have been moved to town meeting on February 10th and referendum on February 24th.

Improvements proposed at Bacon include artificial turf fields at the stadium, multipurpose, and softball field as well as a new track and post-tension concrete tennis courts. Additionally there are renovations at the recplex courts and splash pad.

On top of that the referendum includes a measure to address the Bacon Academy roof.

More information can be found on the building committee’s town page and an abbreviated presentation is linked

*CLASS OF 2027 JUNIOR PLANNING NIGHT*

On Monday, February 23rd the School Counseling Department will host a Junior Planning Night from 6:00pm - 7:30pm in the Bacon Academy Auditorium. During the presentation, the school counselors will be delivering important information about the post-secondary planning process, and students (and families) will be provided with a step-by-step guide to planning for their futures as they enter their final year of high school (heavily focused on the college application process). If you wish to receive this information in person, it is vital that you attend this presentation, as all future Junior Planning information will only be communicated to families via email.

The Penguin Plunge is Coming!

We are thrilled to invite you to sponsor our BA Unified Sports team, or ANY of the BA Athletic teams that are raising money for Special Olympics Connecticut. Last year, Unified Athletes plunged into a mini-pool, and this year we are stepping up our game and plunging into a real-life 12' x 24' swimming pool!

Please join us on Friday, February 20th, in the gym parking lot at 3 pm
Thanks so much for your support!
