Colchester Teacher David Mason Surprised with Milken Educator Award and $25,000

Bacon Academy is elated to share news of today's special Pep Rally! We welcomed Connecticut Commissioner of Education Charlene Russell-Tucker who congratulated staff and students on BA's continued success in college and career readiness. Special guest Dr. Jane Foley was then introduced, who shared with the entire school that a Bacon Academy teacher has been selected as Connecticut's Milken Educator for 2025. The surprise award went to Dave Mason in our CTE/Technology department. The Milken Educator Award recognizes exceptional educators who demonstrate effective and innovative instructional practices, exemplary educational accomplishments and leadership beyond the classroom.

Distinguished guests from the Connecticut Department of Education and Colchester Board of Education were also joined by veteran Milken awardees. (Including Bacon's own Peter Areseneault, 2015 winner.)

National Honor Society Inductions 2025-2026

Bacon Academy’s chapter of the National Honor Society is proud to congratulate our newest inductees. The ceremony was held on Monday October 27th. Pictured are the returning members in the back row and our newest members in the front row. Congratulations to all!

Girls Soccer ECC Champs!

Congratulations to our Bacon Academy Girls Soccer team on their ECC Division I Tournament Championship on Monday! Congratulations also to Alyssa Blanchette, on her MVP award.

Registration for 2025 Bacon Academy Winter Sports!

All student-athletes must be registered in PowerSchool in order to participate. Once you are registered in PowerSchool the nurse will check for physicals.

Physicals are good for 13 Months. Please get a copy of your updated physical to the BA nurses office ASAP. Your physician's office may fax (860) 537-1869 your student's physical directly to the Bacon Academy health office.

Registration is located in the E-Collect forms in your PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Veteran's Day

Dear Veterans and Community Members,

The Bacon Academy Student Council proudly invites you to our Veterans Day Celebration and Panel Discussion honoring those who have served our country.

Date: Wednesday, November 5th
Time: 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM
Location: Bacon Academy Auditorium

This special event will feature a Q&A panel with our local veterans and the junior and senior classes, who will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn from your experiences.

We would be honored to have you join us as we recognize and celebrate your service and sacrifice.

From the Classroom: Bake for Good

Students in Bake Shop 1 baked loaves of bread this week to donate to the local food pantry, thanks to the generous support of King Arthur Baking’s Bake for Good program. King Arthur provided the flour, yeast, and packaging, allowing our students to use their baking skills to make a meaningful difference in our community.
