Pay to Play for Fall 2022

Pay to pay collections is September 1st - September 15th. Please pay online using this link.  Please create an account even if you opt not to use the online payment portal. Receipts of payment (online, cash or check) will be emailed via My Payments Plus.com. 

Payment of cash or check are also accepted and can be dropped off in the main office. Checks must be made out to TOWN OF COLCHESTER. 

The fee of $180 must be paid by September 15th, student athletes will not be eligible to play or practice if the fee is not paid. Contact Danielle Bossie by phone or email ([email protected]) for questions or concerns. 

BA DRAMA CLUB

Have you ever wanted to be an actor? Have you ever wondered what’s going on behind the scenes of a play? The Bacon Academy Drama Club is looking for actors and stage crew members! If you are interested in learning about acting, costuming, or set design come to the informational meeting on Tuesday September 6th after school from 2:30 until 4 in the Bacon Academy Auditorium.

Summer Reading 

Great news! There is still time to participate in the Bacon Academy 2022 Summer Reading Program. Our celebration is Friday, September 23rd.  Teachers and staff have chosen great books to share and we will have snacks, prizes and exciting book discussions during the reading celebration! Don’t miss out on the chance to engage in this great activity. In order to participate, your assignment is due by September 16th. Visit the Summer Reading Website for the book selections and assignment instructions. If you have any questions, please stop by the LMC.

Seniors

If you qualify for senior privileges please note that they do not go into effect until the parent consent form is signed, filed in the main office, and reflected in Powerschool.  These consent forms are available in the main office or on the digital link below, and can be completed at this time.  If a student does not have a consent form filled out they must report to their study hall until parental consent is obtained.

PARKING PERMITS

Parking permits are now available.  Please bring with you a signed parking permit form, proof of insurance, proof of registration and a current driver’s license.  The main office is now open from 7:00 to 3:00 if you would like to get your parking permit early!  All drivers must obtain a permit and display it clearly in the front windshield of your vehicle prior to parking on school grounds.  

Senior portrait scheduling

Legacy Portraits is excited to share their cover letter that will help families fulfill their senior's portrait needs. Whether it be for the yearbook or for personal use, the experience should be fun and seamless!  Sessions are being offered through the summer and in the fall.  If you have any questions, please call Susan McKiernan in the BA main office (860) 537-2370.  

The next session is Thursday, October 13, 2022 and Friday, October 14, 2022 from 2:30 to 8:00 PM.

NEWS FROM THE CAFETERIA

During the transition back to normal school operations for our school year 2022-23, the CPS has opted into the School Meals Assistance Revenue for Transition (SMART) funds providing meals (breakfast and lunch) at no cost for all students at the beginning of the school year, subject to the availability of district funds.

School Counseling Website/Information

Information about College Board

Test scores are being released for the PSAT and SAT exams for both Sophomores and Juniors. When the School Counseling Office receives any hard copies of your tests, we will contact the students to visit us and pick them up.  Most times, students are notified directly from the College Board via email about their test scores being ready to view.  College Board Accounts are not managed by the School Counseling Office and are only available to students.  Students must keep their user name and password for access.   https://www.collegeboard.org/   Please visit the College Board website to access your materials, or if you have questions concerning sign on, their direct number is 866-630-9305.
