DRAMA CLUB

The Bacon Academy Drama Club has its first meeting on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 2:30 in the BA cafeteria.  Whether you are interested in being an actor, stage crew, set designer, or lighting and sound technician, there is a place for you in the club.  The club will be starting the year with their improv program, so be sure to stop in if you are ready to laugh!

 

HOMECOMING DANCE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2021

 

This year's Homecoming Dance will be held next Friday, September 17th, from 7 P.M. - 10 P.M. The dance will be located outside in the Bacon Academy Courtyard. Masks must be worn at all times by all participants. Even though the event is outside, with so many people, we insist that masks be worn to protect everyone’s safety. All students must submit the Homecoming Dance Permission Slip in order to purchase a ticket. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased in the morning and during lunch for $15. Ticket sales will end at the end of the school day on Thursday, September 16th. No tickets will be sold at the dance. Students absent on Friday, September 17th may not attend. Please be advised that there are no outside guests allowed.

Welcome to Bacon Academy Project Graduation! We raise funds to provide safe, no-cost graduation activities for all students! BA Project Graduation will hold its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. Zoom link and agenda will be posted on our Facebook page and included in our digital backpack newsletter.

Project Grad's 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament will take place on September 25 at Ruby & Elizabeth Cohen's Woodlands in Colchester. Parents and student teams (or mixed) are welcome!

SENIOR PORTRAITS 

 

The second round of senior pictures will take place on SEPTEMBER 16TH AND SEPTEMBER 17TH at Bacon Academy, from 2:30 to 8:00 PM.  The link to the Senior appointment site is live and open. Parents and students should also have received an invitation from Legacy Portraits to sign up.  The link is also included below.  Please call Mrs. McKiernan in the main office with any questions or scheduling concerns.

COLCHESTER PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT BREAKFAST AND LUNCH WILL BE FREE TO ALL STUDENTS FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2021-22. 

 

Please note  – students can receive only one breakfast and one lunch free per day, any additional items or meals will be at a charge. 

 

FROM THE LMC Chromebook distribution: Grade 9 and incoming new students.

 

Returning students must submit the Technology and Student Information forms in PowerSchool. Chromebook insurance payment is online through my payments plus.  Directions are on the Colchester Public Schools website under payments.

 

Chromebooks will be distributed from the Media Center starting on September 2. Students may come to the MC before school starts, during a study hall period, or after school [we are open until 4pm].

Access to Parent Portal in PowerSchool for 2021-22

 

 

Colchester Public Schools District is requiring all families to update student information forms and review school-related documents prior to the start of the 2021-22 academic year. Families will be able to access the Parent Portal in PowerSchool in order to complete all paperwork on August 16, 2021. Families will not be able to view their student's teacher or course schedule until after August 16 and upon the completion of all required paperwork in the Parent Portal.

Stop by the Bacon Main Office to pick up your parking pass.  The form can be found online.  Please be sure to have a parent signature, license, registration and proof of insurance.  Don’t wait until the first day of school !

PSAT 


The PSAT for 10th and 11th grade students will be held at Bacon Academy on October 13th. There is no cost to sophomores, but juniors who wish to take the exam must pay a $20.00 fee and register beginning September 13th. Only juniors need to register using the following link:

Information about College Board


Test scores are being released for the PSAT and SAT exams for both Sophomores and Juniors. When the School Counseling Office receives any hard copies of your tests, we will contact the students to visit us and pick them up.  Most times, students are notified directly from the College Board via email about their test scores being ready to view.  College Board Accounts are not managed by the School Counseling Office and are only available to students.  Students must keep their user names and passwords for access.   https://www.collegeboard.org/   Please visit the College Board website to access your materials, or if you have questions concerning sign on, their direct number is 866-630-9305.
