Three students from Bacon Academy, Kayla Balser (sophomore), James Brownson (senior), and Avery Denker (senior) competed in the Regional Cupcake Wars competition on Thursday, April 28, 2022, held in Clinton, CT.  Students, along with their Family & Consumer Sciences teacher,  Ms. Tracy Marvin, worked hard after school to test and develop their flavors.  Ultimately students decided to submit a pistachio cupcake with pistachio fudge filling and strawberry Swiss Meringue buttercream decorated with handmade fondant flowers. Students presented their cupcakes to the industry judges and were awarded First Place for their cupcake's exceptional taste, professional presentation, and knowledge of their product.
