Spring planning has started for the Bacon Academy Project Graduation events!  The February Newsletter has our latest fundraisers!

This year, students from Bacon AP Environmental Science Class are partnering with the nonprofit Tree-Plenish to help make their community more sustainable. They plan to plant 212 saplings on April 22, 2023 to offset their school’s energy consumption from the past academic year.

Residents of the community are able to help support the event starting now! They can order a sapling to be planted in their yard or sign up to volunteer to plant saplings on the day of the event. Saplings are $5 and residents can choose between Eastern Redbud, Flowering Dogwood, and Red Maple saplings. The more residents that request saplings, the faster the students are able to reach their goal. If residents are unable to order a sapling or volunteer their time, they can also make a monetary contribution on the Tree-Plenish website to help support future tree-planting events.  Any business or individual who wishes to donate to the cause without purchasing a sapling, offsets the cost of the saplings for others.

For more information on volunteering , or to order sapling please visit the website for the event : http://tpevents.org/school/3047 or contact Jill Levasseur at [email protected]

To all 11th grade students and their families

On Monday, February 27, 2023, the School Counseling Department will be hosting Junior Planning Night at 6:00 p.m. in the Bacon Academy Auditorium. During this presentation, the school counselors will be delivering important, timely information about the post-secondary planning process, and students (and families) will be provided with a step-by-step guide of planning for their futures as they enter their final year of high school (heavily focused on the college application process). If you wish to receive this information in person, it is vital that you attend this presentation, as all future Junior Planning information will be communicated to families via email. Therefore, we strongly encourage all Juniors and their families to attend this important event. Please reach out to the School Counseling Department with any questions.
